Have you ever noticed that those who do things like tattoos, jewelry in “uncivilized fashion,” and hair like this are considered savage?
You seem to think you are above the Native traditions of the world. Natives have always used these as symbols of their status. Colonization is still in your brain today. Those who dare defy you in it, you dismiss and throw away. Think about your own brainwashing for a minute. Why do you think these things? Clearly you were told to think these things. The colonization was one step, but the corporatization is the next.
Now, you can’t even wear clothing that is too exciting in color or shape without being frowned upon. Note how if you look at Native clothing the world over, it is full of vibrant colors and patterns. I personally have high respect for the countries that still uphold their Native traditions and manage it paired with the rising corporatization of their lands. They haven’t lost their identities yet.
I see you Ukraine. You are one of the many who have been consistent in this. I tried sharing your glorious textiles, artwork, and music for years, but people only paid attention when you were being bombed and that was only because you are White and many larger companies from richer countries take advantage of your people for cheap labor. I still see you. I only wish everyone else could really see what they support.
